Operational draft — not legal advice. This document is a working draft prepared for early, founder-led use. It requires review by a qualified lawyer before being relied on for regulated, public-sector, or enterprise customers. Last updated 5 July 2026.

Terms of Service

UnionFold ("UnionFold", "we", "us") provides software tooling for website consent management, cookie/service declaration, diagnostic scanning, and monitoring. By creating an account or using our services you ("Customer", "you") agree to these terms.

Company details to be completed. The registered legal entity name, company registration number, registered address, and country of establishment are to be confirmed with counsel and inserted here before this document is relied on. "UnionFold" is used below as the operating name.

1. What the service is

UnionFold provides tooling and diagnostics: a consent banner and preference centre, consent logs and exports, cookie/service declaration support, website scanner reports, monitoring, and before/after evidence of changes. UnionFold provides configuration and setup support.

What the service is not. UnionFold does not provide legal advice and does not certify, guarantee, or warrant that your website meets any law, regulation, or standard (including GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA, WCAG, or any certification scheme). Our reports are diagnostic indicators, not legal conclusions. You remain responsible for your own legal compliance and should obtain independent legal advice.

2. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for how you configure the tools and the content of your site.
  • You must have the rights to the domains and data you submit.
  • You must not use the service to scan or process sites you are not authorised to test.
  • You are responsible for your users' data and for your own legal obligations to them.

3. Accounts and access

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or create security or abuse risk.

4. Billing

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor (Stripe). Fees, limits, and any trial or discount terms are those shown at purchase. Founder-led / pilot arrangements may be agreed separately in writing.

5. Data processing

Where we process personal data on your behalf (for example, consent-log records relating to your site's visitors), we act as a processor. See our Privacy Policy, Data Processing Addendum, and Sub-processor list.

6. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. UnionFold is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, abuse, or non-payment. On termination you may request export of your data for a reasonable period.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified through the product or by email.

9. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the law of UnionFold's country of establishment (to be confirmed with counsel), without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your own country of residence. The competent courts of that jurisdiction will handle disputes, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
